Chameleon Network retained patent attorneys Wolf, Greenfield & Sacks, PC, who filed the full patent application with the US Patent & Trademark Office in September 2000. The patent application was also filed under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) for Europe and Asia.

The company's first patent filing resulted in allowance of all claims and patent issuance in February 2006. Notice of Allowance of all claims of a second patent was received in late 2005. Seven other patents are pending.

These patent filings describe the unique combination of technology and services that comprise the Pocket Vault System. These filings include new process flow charts, new concepts, a summary of significant distinctions between the Pocket Vault and other patents filed in related areas and additional language intended to properly protect Chameleon Network's interests.

Six members of the management team are named as inventors, who transferred their patent positions to Chameleon Network at the time of the patent filing.
