Security
Chameleon Network, has developed a patents-pending PDA platform that is icon-driven [no stylus, language-free] and has a fingerprint sensor, smart card interface and morphing removable card. The device, called the Pocket Vault, and its card, the Chameleon Card, support a secure digital wallet application that, unlike competing technologies, requires no changes to existing point-of-access control security systems or point-of-sale devices. The compact, fingerprint-activated Pocket Vault uses well-established encryption methodologies and is immune to theft and fraud.

For airport security, the technology has significant advantages. Other proposals would be enormously expensive and time-consuming to install worldwide. In contrast, our Pocket Vault System (PVS) would require no change in physical systems for access to gates, doors, or ramps. The PVS achieves this level of security without the "big brother" concerns raised over some national identity card proposals. The fingerprint data remain on the device and are never archived in a central database (though it is technically possible to do so), ensuring privacy.
The Pocket Vault should also appeal to regulatory and law enforcement agencies, since a single database [linked to airport and airline databases] would be used to issue, update or terminate all Pocket Vault identities, in real time, securely and wirelessly. No airport or airline workers would be able to gain access to aircraft or other secure areas without the Pocket Vault, which would contain ALL of their employee IDs.
Finally, since the Pocket Vault can also replace other wallet information, such as credit cards, the PVS should be perceived as making things easier for employees, while introducing significant security improvements
