Board of Directors

Advisory Board 

Todd O. Burger, President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Burger, the principal stockholder, has overall management responsibility for the business. He is a seasoned entrepreneur, technologist, management consultant, operations manager and a CPA. Most recently, Mr. Burger has been an independent consultant with clients such as Amazon.com and Brookstone. Previously, he was a partner-level Director of Arthur D. Little specializing in transport and technology. Mr. Burger also led projects related to smart cards, encryption and interbank transaction data network management.

His expertise and over 25 years of practical experience includes aspects of:

  • Manufacturing and logistics planning procedures
  • Design, testing and evaluation of new technology
  • Operations management and planning business strategy
  • Merger implementation planning and economic analysis
  • Design of several new products ranging from electronic wallets to robotics

Prior to joining Arthur D. Little in 1981, Mr. Burger held several senior management roles for Burlington Northern, Inc. in St. Paul, Minnesota, and started his career with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Co., (KPMG), in Hartford, CT.

Mr. Burger earned his BS in accounting from State University of New York at Albany and received his CPA accreditation in the state of Connecticut. He is currently serving on the board of directors of the Arthur D. Little Alumni Association. He also served on the Town of Lexington's 20/20 Vision Implementation Committee for five years.

Paul Burmeister, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Burmeister will manage the company's financial systems, provide financial oversight on contractors and drive the company's funding efforts.

With 25 years experience, Mr. Burmeister is a senior executive with financial, operations and project management expertise. His recent consulting engagements have included advising Aaron Feuerstein of Malden Mills. Prior to entering independent practice, Mr. Burmeister was Senior VP and Chief Financial Officer of RoweCom Inc., an industry leader in business process outsourcing. In eight years at Fidelity Investments, Mr. Burmeister served as VP - Corporate Controller of Fidelity and SVP- CFO of Fidelity Investments Systems Company. Mr. Burmeister was with The Dun & Bradstreet Corporation for eleven years as Assistant Corporate Controller and a divisional CFO, and previously held operating and finance positions at PepsiCo, American Can, and Estee Lauder.

Mr. Burmeister holds a BS in Engineering and an MBA from Cornell University. He is a member and Past Treasurer of the General Board of Directors of the YMCA of Greater Boston and a Trustee of the Concord Museum, and a past member of the Cornell University Council.

Stuart J. Lipoff, Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Lipoff is responsible for the design and development of the initial Pocket Vaults, Chameleon Cards, and docking ports, and for overseeing the contract services to produce them.

Before joining the Chameleon Network team, our CTO served as a world-renowned technology consultant. His consulting assignments have included: encryption security work for Visa and MasterCard; the development of a consumer Internet appliance; facilitating the development of electronic commerce for the U.S. Postal Service; supporting the development of the North American specifications for cable modems and associated services providing high speed data and electronic commerce services to the home and small businesses; developing standards for the grocery business for direct exchange electronic data interchange (DEX/UCS EDI).

Mr. Lipoff is past president of the IEEE’s Consumer Electronics Society and currently the chair of the society's standards committee.

Brad Friedlander, Vice President - Software Engineering

Mr. Friedlander directs the architecture, design, development, and deployment of our B2B Internet Infrastructure, device software, and website. He manages the integration and systems testing of all components of our products and services. In addition, he manages Chameleon Network's use of information technology to manage our business.

Prior to joining the Chameleon Network team, Mr. Friedlander was a partner-level Principal at Arthur D. Little specializing in the strategic and tactical use of information technology. He has extensive experience in a wide range of industries for which information technology is a critical component of success. He has experience as a Chief Technology Officer of software product and services companies and as the SVP of Software Development for a major equity exchange. He has developed operating systems, databases, compliers, and other system applications.

Karl B. Jessen, Vice President -Hardware Development and Market Research

Mr. Jessen manages our hardware platform development including coordination of the work of our engineering design contractors. Mr. Jessen will also oversee our market research and support key partnership development efforts.

Mr. Jessen, who built the first Chameleon card, is also responsible for our collaboration with smart card vendors.

A seasoned executive with over 17 years of professional experience, he has extensive leadership, business development, alliances, consumer and industrial market research and management experience in the e-Commerce, product management and high technology industries.

Previously, he was head of a practice area at the Yankee Group, directing a team of market and technical analysts focused on Internet commerce and network technology. Responsibilities included developing Internet strategies for clients in both the business-to-business and business-to-consumer e-Commerce markets.

Other experience includes serving as: a Director at Arthur D. Little, Inc. for its global consulting practice for change management; Senior Consultant for Honeywell DMC Inc.; Marketing Manager for Analog Devices, Inc.; and as a Captain, Program Manager in the U.S. Air Force.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and his MBA in International Business at Babson College.

Board of Directors

Chameleon Network will ultimately have seven permanent voting Board members. The Board will understand the mission of the company. The permanent representatives will include three members of the Chameleon Network senior management, two persons connected with our financial and strategic investors and two independent members. Our current Board includes:

Advisory Board

Chameleon Network has structured an Advisory Board of highly qualified and distinguished industry professionals to assist the management team. This Advisory Board will help the new company establish key relationships, quickly access critical information sources and provide timely feedback on technical and other aspects of Chameleon Network's initiatives. The Advisory Board will help to accelerate Chameleon Network's pace of activity and help to generate the greatest possible shareholder value for Chameleon Network. The Advisory Board currently includes:
